Write It, Work It, Publish It™

A few people who subscribe to my Write It, Work It, Publish it™ blog asked me what my Untitled novel (the sequel to Whisper of Lies) is about, and I thought I’d share it with you via the Throughline, which is:

After overcoming an unhappy marriage and extreme financial hardship, a young woman’s future happiness is threatened after she is reunited with a delusional ex-school crush.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the term, Throughline. It’s one sentence—usually around twenty-five words—that describe your book in its entirety. From this, a central question should be posed, i.e. will the main character give up, fail or succeed. And throughout your story this question is what should keep readers turning the pages.

This is an excellent way for you to know how your story will move forward, since issues will arise from a problem, and to move forward you must identify the problem.

In my book, the character is dealing with a situational problem and therefore, her past will play a part in her present life, as well as how things will change that will affect her future.

The question is, will she give up, fail or succeed? I’m not telling!
